Czechoslovakian born in 1897 in Pilsen and died in 1976 in New York, Ladislav Sutnar is a pioneer of graphic design and shares with his contemporaries of the Bauhaus artistic movement the taste for bright colors and simple geometric shapes. A game designer, in 1921 he created "Factory Town", a very refined educational cube game that Vilac reissued 100 years later in collaboration with the Argentinian artist Gérard Lo Monaco and the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Art and Design. Three unique copies are still extant in the world, including one exhibited at the MoMa in New York.
The game is stored in a screen-printed wooden box.
