Bertrand du Guesclin, nicknamed the Dogue noir de Brocéliande, is the eldest son of Robert II du Guesclin, lord of La Motte-Broons and his wife Jeanne de Malesmains, lady of Sens. At a very young age he is considered the shame of the family and must learn to prove himself. His strength and skill leads him to his 15th birthday to participate in jousting tournaments anonymously. He defeated all his opponents before he found himself facing his own father. It is only when he discovers his identity that his father, filled with pride, commits to the team, making him one of the best tournament players of his time.
